44-45: McClanahan, Wright C. "Uncle Wright" b 23 Feb 1827 KY d 8 Jun1917 at
Herrick at the home of his daughter. He m 3 Jan 1850 Mary J. Sarver, shed 11
Apr 1908. They had been married 58 years at the time of her decease.Burial
was in Sarver Cem. He had conducted a country store in Herrick and was
postmaster there for 8 years. He had been a Mason of 65 years. He wasthe 2nd
child born of 14--7 boys, 7 girls. He and his wife were parents of 11
children. Survivors were Caroline Butler; James of Bixby, OK; Charles of
Cowden; Mollie Kesler of Herrick; Emma Flood of Lawton, OK; Maggie Burrus,
Vandalia; Rose Adams, Dupo. Surviving brothers and sisters were:Charles of
Austin, TX; Thomas of Lineas, MO; David, Vandalia; Kittie wauwood; Alice
Dowell; Robin Corley and Sarah Merriman all of Herrick. James, Alex,Edward,
Mary, Harriett and Susan were deceased. Vandalia Union 14 Jun 1917,Ramsey

Olene sent for her birth certificate after here husband Phoenix wasdisabled from a stroke in 1969, she found only one female child born toher parents in Jan of 1920 , but the name on the document was Elva Marie Messamore/ she recalled her father wanted her named this but her motherhad always called her Olene.
